LeBrun: Teams have told me "they're still in" on Kane

Pierre LeBrun was on Winnipeg’s TSN 1290 on Friday afternoon.

On if there’s still interest in acquiring Evander Kane before the trade deadline, given the surgery news:

“Yeah, there still is some interest. There’s a couple of teams that have told me they’re still in - I’m not going to name them - because they view him as a long-term investment.

“I think some of the teams we can name that are out now that probably had interest, had he not been injured – Pittsburgh, Boston, Anaheim are among a long list of contenders I think that were going to give this a pretty good look to see what it would take. Now that’s he’s gone 4-6 months, I think it’s clear those teams are not in anymore.

“So yeah, we’ll see. I still think it’s possible. There’s still teams calling. I still think it’s possible they move him before March 2, but not a sure thing.”
