LeBrun hearing Predators' Poile might be "most aggressive guy" on trade market
/Pierre LeBrun was on Winnipeg’s TSN 1290 on Friday afternoon.
On what we should be paying close attention to around the league:
“Yeah, I would keep an eye on the Nashville Predators. It’s uncanny how many other executives I spoke with this week around the league that said that David Poile might be the most aggressive guy out there right now in terms of trying to add a piece or two.
“He has some interest in Chris Neil, as I reported earlier this week, of the Ottawa Senators. There’s that Mike Fisher-Chris Neil connection we all know about. Now, whether Neil even gets dealt is a different matter. I think he has mixed emotions about that. Very loyal. Been a Senator all his life. Plus, there’s other teams interested in Chris Neil.
“But the Predators have also held trade talks with the Leafs this week. In fact, Dave Nonis stayed behind in Nashville after his team left and spoke with David Poile this week.
“So regardless of what they end up doing, I think the Predators will add a forward or two. Maybe even add another piece on defense. I think David Poile smells an opportunity to go for it this year, and why not with the guy they have in goal.“
