Dreger: Jets' Cheveldayoff still looking to trade
/Darren Dreger was on NHL Network’s NHL Tonight on Monday evening.
On the Winnipeg Jets and the trade deadline:
“As far as Winnipeg is concerned, wow, what a story the Jets are. It’s all built on chemistry and work ethic that has been designed by Paul Maurice; a coach of the year candidate, in my opinion, soundly.
“But Kevin Cheveldayoff knows that he’s got something good working here in Winnipeg. So he wants to build off that. He’s looking for a depth forward. Sounds like a very popular phrase. But worst-case scenario, a top-9 right winger. So a third line right winger. But if there’s a better player available, then he’s in the market for that as well. Using the depth that he has on the blueline as bait.”
