LeBrun on Mike Richards, Kings, Jets, trades
/Pierre LeBrun was on Montreal’s TSN 690 on Tuesday evening.
On if Winnipeg could be a destination for Mike Richards:
“I don’t sense right now that there’s anything imminent with Mike Richards, but I will tell you that it’s probably been discussed at some level internally with the Kings about whether they should do something. But easier said than done, right. You mentioned the contract.
“In terms of Winnipeg, the amazing recovery of Evander Kane – who was supposed to be out until next month – has changed dynamics a little. I think there was a little more pressure on them to try and go out and acquire a top-9 forward when Kane went down because it sounded like he was going to be out a long time. And every single point in the standings is life and death for the Winnipeg Jets.
“But because he came back so quick, the sense I got from talking to a source last week is yes, they’re still looking, but the foot is off the gas pedal in terms of desperately needing to do something now.”
