Dreger outlines Rangers' trade needs
/Darren Dreger was on NHL Network’s NHL Tonight on Thursday evening.
On how the New York Rangers locked up Marc Staal, and if they’re done:
“I don’t think so. But again, they’re looking for a depth player. The New York Rangers quietly have gone about their business this year and they continue to battle for top spot in the Metro. They’re going to be in there right to the end of the regular season, and who knows? They absolutely could repeat as Eastern Conference champions based on what they have. But they’re looking for a depth center. And as we’ve talked about, maybe a Mike Santorelli, for example, of the Toronto Maple Leafs might be a good fit if things continue to worsen for the Leafs. He’s an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. That’s the type of piece I think the Rangers would look for.”
