Yzerman: Islanders, Rangers might be "the two top teams" in East now

Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman was on NHL Network’s NHL Tonight on Thursday evening.

On how so many teams are within striking distance of the first-place Lightning, and if there’s a favorite in the Eastern Conference:

“I think it’s fair to say it’s somewhat wide-open. I’d say that in the Western Conference as well. But right now you look at the Islanders and New York Rangers, they’re the hottest team in the league. The Islanders are deep. Four lines deep. They’re getting good goaltending. The additions on defense of Boychuk and Leddy have really solidified that team. So to me, those might be the two top teams in the Conference right now.”
