Countdown to TradeCentre: Oilers Outlook

Bob McKenzie was on TSN on Thursday evening.

On the Edmonton Oilers, and how they have a lot of needs:

“Well, they do. Obviously goaltending would be the primary, No. 1 need. But they're not going to get that at the deadline, as Ryan quite correctly pointed out. They also want to upgrade on defence, they want to upgrade in the middle of the ice. But the draft is probably going to yield one of those guys.

"Ryan talked about Petry. That is the guy that's likely to move. There has been some door opening in the last 48 hours that maybe they want to talk to him about a deal, but I think at this point you're most likely to see Petry go to market and if he's going to market, then he's going to get traded.

"And there's lots of interest in Petry. I mean Andrej Sekera, Petry, Zbynek Michalek are the top 3 rental defencemen that are out there right now and I would expect Petry to be dealt."
