Countdown to TradeCentre: Jets Outlook

Darren Dreger was on TSN on Thursday evening.

On what the Jets will do with no Mathieu Perreault:

“Well, they're looking for forwards. They were looking for forwards prior to the Evander Kane trade with the Buffalo Sabres and you're right, because of the injury they're still in the market looking for at least two forwards.

"They do have some trade bait they can utilize. They have some defensive depth. Maybe they throw Harrison, Pardy or Postma into the equation.

"But here's an interesting name we haven't heard for awhile, and that's Alex Burmistrov. Now he's been playing in the Kontinental Hockey League for the past couple of seasons and word is among some that he'd be willing to come back to the National Hockey League. He is a restricted free agent centreman. Is there a team out there that's willing to take that chance, gamble on whether or not he is going to come back?

"The Jets would certainly include him as part of a package and teams have called. So that's some of the bait that they're using to add those pieces."
