Friedman: Jets' Huddy helping improve Myers' game

Elliotte Friedman was on Calgary’s Sportsnet 960 on Monday morning.

On the improvement in Tyler Myers' game:

“The thing about Myers is, I think the thing that really goes good for him is he’s got Charlie Huddy there.

“... He’s a really good teacher. And one of the things he got on him right away was, ‘Tyler, your reach should be nine feet.’

“And he was a guy who had two hands on the stick a lot. He’s trying to get him to use one hand more - especially when opponents are coming in - so he can knock the puck off his stick, he can ride them along the boards, he can be a better defender.

“The other thing about Charlie Huddy - and Kelly Hrudey has the great line about him: ‘If you don’t get along with Charlie Huddy, you’re the problem.’

“And I really think that having Huddy there is going to make Myers so much of a better player.”
