Benning: Canucks will "see what the market bears" for Markstrom

Canucks GM Jim Benning was on Vancouver’s TSN 1040 on Thursday afternoon.

On what Jacob Markstrom’s future is like with the organization:

“He’s had a real good year. He’s played well. To me it looks like he’s taken his next step in his development. That’s a strength we have with our goaltending position with Ryan and Eddie and Jacob. Eriksson has played well down there this year, and we’ve got Demko.

“So I think if we have one strength in our organization right now, it’s our goaltending.”

On if he thinks Markstrom has made himself untouchable:

“He’s a good prospect. He’s a good young prospect. He’s making it tough on us to make a decision going forward. So we’ll see. We’ll see what the market bears. As we go forward we’ll just see and have to make a decision in which direction we want to go.”
