Brodeur: Devils' coaches have done 'tremendous job'

Martin Brodeur was asked about the future of Pete DeBoer and the New Jersey Devils coaching staff.

"I don't know if (the coaches will) be back. Every year when you don't have success there are always thoughts about changes. Only one person knows the direction the organization wants to take," Brodeur told The Star-Ledger.

"For a coach, you get hired to be fired to a certain extent. That's kind of the nature of being a coach. Its a tough thing. But these guys, regardless of the results, have done a tremendous job. I haven't been to any other teams, but the preparation and the work they put into getting us ready for games is second to none.

"Whatever decision is made, it won't be because the coaches didn't try to make it happen. The players have to take responsibility. We're the ones playing the games."
