Dreger: Bryzgalov initially wanted "upwards of $4 million" from Ducks

Darren Dreger was on Ottawa’s TSN 1200 on Tuesday afternoon.

On how Ilya Bryzgalov got $2.88 million from the Ducks, compared with the bargain for which the St. Louis Blues signed Martin Brodeur:

“I guess familiarity. The Ducks are comfortable with Bryzgalov and the history they have. He’s a little bit younger, obviously. But the reason Bryzgalov was sitting out there for as long as he was – at least I’m told – is that he wanted upwards of $4 million when they first started talking. So to get him down to the number that they got him down to, I think they feel pretty happy with it.”
