Friedman on Monahan's exciting career potential

Elliotte Friedman was on Calgary’s Sportsnet 960 on Monday morning.

On dying to know what Sean Monahan is going to be as an NHLer:

“I think what he’s going to be is he’s going to be one of the best two-way centres in the NHL. I think that’s what you’re looking at.

“I mean, here’s a guy who scored – as you corrected me last week - 22 goals as an 18-year-old. He’s going to score – he could get 30 as a 19-year-old.

“He does it without any fanfare. He’s very quiet and you can tell he loves the fact that nobody really talks about him.

“I mean, what do people know about him the best is that Twitter account that one of his teammates is running. And it’s funny.

“He’s done everything you could have asked of him and more. He’s a great two-way player. I mean, what you’ve got there is – I don’t think anybody knows yet what the ceiling is, but you’ve got to be pretty excited about it.”
