Friedman on Glencross, Flames, Capitals, Rangers, Blues
/Elliotte Friedman was on Calgary’s Sportsnet’s 960 on Thursday afternoon.
On what he’s hearing on Curtis Glencross:
“I think the one thing the Calgary Flames would like to do is expand his list. And we’ve reported it’s been at five. I think it’s more than that now.
“I think he’s been convinced that Washington is a good idea. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rangers are asking would he consider going there at all.
“I think Calgary is taking in all the information. But I think before they make the deal, I think they’d really like to say, ‘Do we know how many teams he’ll really go to?’
“So I think that’s what Glencross is trying to process – how many teams he really is willing to go to. And there’s a lot going on. There’s a family situation too with a child on the way. That’s all tough stuff for him to process.
“But I definitely think there’s interest. I think also too St. Louis is very much in this. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Doug Armstrong was scouting their last two games. I don’t believe in coincidences.
“So to me, what it really is all about is how could the Calgary Flames put the maximum amount of teams in this to get this done.”
