Trade rumors don't bother maturing Myers

Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers was on Buffalo’s WGR 550 on Thursday morning.

On if the Tyler Myers trade rumors make him angry:

“No, I don’t think that stuff upsets me at all. It’s always good to hear when Tim says he’s not shopping me. I’m fully committed to being a Buffalo Sabre right now and I’m going to do the best I can to help our team out as much as possible. But we all understand it’s a business and that there might be times where there will be different situations where other teams are coming after you and it’s the GM’s job to listen to those teams.

“So it doesn’t upset me. For me, I’ve learned the past couple of years to focus on the things I can control and that’s what I’m trying to do right now with our team.”

On having the ability to compartmentalize and block things out:

“Three years ago I probably wouldn’t be handling this talk as well as I am this year. I feel like I’ve learned a lot, especially over the last two years of just focusing on the things I can control.”
