Trade to Canadiens was music to Weise's ears

The Winnipeg Sun describes how Dale Weise and his family were huge fans of the Montreal Canadiens growing up, so his February trade from the Vancouver Canucks there this season was welcomed. And then some.

Weise mentions how he didn't get much of a chance to establish himself while with the New York Rangers, but did once being claimed on waivers by the Canucks.

“And then John Tortorella gets hired in Vancouver — and we were back at Square 1,” Weise said.

And when the trade buzz came this season?

“I texted my mom and said there’s rumours it’s to Montreal, and we were both freaking out,” Weise said. “Then I got a call from Mike Gillis saying, ‘We’ve just traded you to Montreal.’ That was music to my ears. It was just incredible to go to that team.

“John Tortorella might have been the reason. It’s done great for my career. I don’t have anything else to say to him.”

You can tell from all of the quotes in the article how excited he is by all things Habs though. Great to see.
