Jeter appreciates Brodeur's longevity with Devils
/CBS New York points out that Yankees great Derek Jeter was a high school senior when Martin Brodeur played his first game with the New Jersey Devils.
Jeter isn't much of a hockey fan, but says of Brodeur's longevity with the Devils, “That’s another thing that’s unheard of, especially this day and age in sports. You just do not see it. I mean, that’s pretty remarkable.”
He had a number of comments on Brodeur, including the potential of the legend finishing his career with another team.
“Man, I hope not,” Jeter said. “I don’t know him, but I hope he gets to finish exactly how he wants to finish. If he wants to come back, then I hope he gets that opportunity. And if he wants to go play somewhere else, then … as long as it’s what he wants to do.”
