Molson: Keeping Vanek one of Habs' priorities
/Canadiens owner, president and CEO Geoff Molson shared his thoughts, via The Montreal Gazette, on a number of team-related issues headed into the final few days of the regular season.
Thomas Vanek will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and Molson said keeping the sniper is “one of many priorities."
On the perceived issues between coach Michel Therrien and P.K. Subban, Molson said, “But I do like the way Marc described P.K. last weekend on L’Antichambre, saying he’s still a young player, he’s done a great job and he’s really improving and making great strides to being one of the great defencemen in the NHL. I think that’s true.”
Molson praised GM Marc Bergevin, shared his thoughts on being the only Canadian team to make the playoffs and also discussed his relationship with fans of the Habs - as well as the long reach of the fan base.
