Hockey Night in Canada: Saturday's Headlines

Elliotte Friedman and Damien Cox's weekly segment on Hockey Night in Canada.

Cox: Everyone is denying the Jack Eichel to CHL rumours, including the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL and Eichel's inner-circle.

Friedman: NCAA goaltender free agent-to-be Matt O'Connor is drawing NHL interest. Toronto met with him today. Craig MacTavish of the Oilers met with him a few weeks ago. Oilers also expected to meet with him further. Vancouver and Ottawa among the teams also taking a look. 

Friedman: Bobby Baun's grandson Kyle is playing at Colgate and he'll draw interest too.

Cox: 22 players in the NHL have one warning for diving already.

Friedman: Nashville Predators and Mike Fisher expected to talk contract soon. He wants to stay. 

Friedman: Ron Hextall hopes it's not a long-term injury for Steve Mason. Will know more Monday or Tuesday.

Friedman: Kimmo Timonen has doctor's appointment next month. It's a possibility he'll come back this season, not a probability. 

Cox: Dallas Eakins could return to the Leafs organization at some point. 

Friedman: On Friday, Doug Armstrong threw cold water on a lot of rumours around the St. Louis Blues, specifically with T.J. Oshie. Bruins concerned about T.J. Oshie's term.
