LeBrun: Trade "seeds being planted"

Pierre LeBrun was on TSN 690 Thursday evenings.

On if there’s much going on in terms of trade talk now:

“There’s some tire-kicking. I mean, Anaheim was in on Boychuk and thought the price was too high, so I think the Ducks are continuing just to see what’s out there in terms of a defenseman.

“I think Detroit could use a right-handed shot defenseman and they’ve sort of made a few phone calls.

Ottawa is a team that’s worth monitoring here as long as Marc Methot doesn’t sign an extension. I don’t think they want to let that play out until March, so something’s got to give there. Either he’s going to sign, or I think there’s a possibility he gets traded.

“So there’s all these little things percolating. Nothing that I would suggest is at the front burner, but, you know, maybe some seeds being planted early on.”
