Insider Trading
/Darren Dreger, Pierre LeBrun and Bob McKenzie were on TSN's Insider Trading on Tuesday evening.
Dreger: Shows a board of the likelihood of Leafs being traded before the trade deadline.
Cody Franson: 85%/ Daniel Winnik: 85%/ Korbinian Holzer: 75%/ Tyler Bozak: 60%/ Joffrey Lupul: 60%/ Mike Santorelli: 60%/ Jake Gardiner: 30%/ James Reimer: 30%/ Nazem Kadri: 30%/ Dion Phaneuf: 20%/ Phil Kessel: 20%
LeBrun: "Franson tops the list because he's the most coveted player. Right-handed defenceman. UFA. A great impact at the trade deadline. L.A. Kings have been missing that guy since Slava Voynov began his legal troubles obviously. So they have interest in Cody Franson. The Detroit Red Wings have been looking for a right-handed defenceman to be in their top-4 for a long time. They have interest. I'm told the Nashville Predators, who developed Cody Franson before moving him to Toronto, they have some interest. Listen, lots of teams have interest in Cody Franson."
LeBrun: "Mike Santorelli. I'm told the Vancouver Canucks, where he played last year, have reached out to the Leafs, and they have interest in Mike Santorelli - as well as other teams do."
LeBrun, on if the Senators have approached veterans about getting dealt: "Well, they have. And that's a dialog that's going to continue. In fact, listen - they're getting a ton of interest on Chris Neil. Here's a guy with another year on his deal. He's not a UFA, so nothing really has to happen there. Except teams are calling. Chris Neil indicated to Bryan Murray recently, 'I'd rather stay in Ottawa' where he's played his whole career. I think that Bryan Murray though, will have another conversation with Chris Neil in the near future to determine exactly that course of action. Especially when you consider the level of interest. But he doesn't want to go anywhere."
McKenzie: February 20 is the relaunch of NHL.com, specifically as it applies to statistics. 35 advanced metrics will be on the site then. April 20 will be a secondary roll-out as well.
