Friedman: Fletcher, Wild waiting on contract talks with Dubnyk

Elliotte Friedman was on Calgary’s Sportsnet 960 on Tuesday afternoon.

On if the Minnesota Wild is beating down the door to get Devan Dubnyk signed:

"I asked Chuck Fletcher about that last weekend. He indicated that they will wait until the end of the season to talk with Dubnyk. He just said it’s pretty simple. ‘Just let him play. No sense in worrying about it. Just let him play and the business will take care of itself.’

“So they’re not beating down the door to do it, but I get the sense if they want to do it, they can get it done once the season is over. They just want to concentrate on trying to make the playoffs, and they suffered a real tough loss last night. When you lose that game to Vancouver and you look at who was on the blueline for the Canucks, you’re sitting there wondering, ‘We’ve got to win that game.’

“So I think Fletcher has kind of thrown the brakes on that and they’ll worry about it when the season is over, whenever that is.”
