Ferraro outlines only Stamkos-to-Leafs scenario

Ray Ferraro was on TSN 1050 Tuesday afternoon.

On Steven Stamkos and the Toronto Maple Leafs:

“The only way – you bring up Steven Stamkos – the only way Steven Stamkos ends up in Toronto is Tampa Bay offers him the entire city and he says, ‘No, I’d rather go to Toronto.’

“Because that’s what’s going to happen, offer-wise. Whatever the maximum is, like, whatever the number is, that’s what Stamkos is going to get in Tampa.”

Also:

“I can’t give you five players, I don’t think,  that I’d take in front of Stamkos... the list is like, oh my god, superstar, superstar, superstar, Stamkos. That’s it. So there’s no way that – I know people in Toronto have this dream of seeing No. 91 wear the Maple Leafs colours, but the only way that happens is if he eschews the most money he possibly can make in Tampa.

“Like, there’s no dollar that’s going to be made more in Toronto except off the ice. If that’s what he wants, then that’s what he’s going to do. But otherwise, he’s not going anywhere.”
