Oilers' Draisaitl shows "elite hockey sense"

Leon Draisaitl put on a passing clinic in Monday’s rookie game between the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets

Which means what, exactly?

“He did what he needed to do. He showed an elite understanding of the game, an elite sense, and you’d expect a player with that pedigree to do so at this level, so we can check off the first box on what he has to do to stick with us,” Oilers GM Craig MacTavish said post-game, via The Journal's Jim Matheson.

“He knows what he’s going to do with the puck before he gets it, and that’s a pretty good indicator of elite hockey sense. He finds people effortlessly on the rush. When players are finding players on the rush that you don’t see when you’re watching the game, they have some special talent.”
