Trouba shows 'confident, take charge' nature

The Winnipeg Sun points out that prior to leaving the world championships to have his neck checked out, Jets defenceman Jacob Trouba had three points in four games while averaging over 23 minutes per contest for Team USA.

“He is clearly a rising player in the overall USA Hockey pool of players and has shown that he rises up to every level of play he has faced over the last several years,” USA Hockey assistant executive director Jim Johannson said in an e-mail. “I think this year we saw a more confident and take charge player that was a ‘pro’ compared to the very good player he was last year at the world championships ‘playing with pros.’ He has a very bright future in the NHL and with USA Hockey.”
