Canucks prospect Fox proving doubters wrong

The Vancouver Province profiles Erie Otters forward Dane Fox, who sniped his way to 64-43-107 totals this season. He also had 122 penalty minutes.

“People will look at the stats and see me as an offensive guy who scores a lot, but that’s not it at all,” Fox, who indicates he models his game after Toronto Maple Leafs centre Dave Bolland, said. “I can do a little bit of everything. I score. I fight. I can make a nice play. I can win faceoffs.

“I’m not all about just scoring goals.”

The Canucks signed Fox, who was undrafted, in December when he had played 35 games and had tallied 41-26-67.

“A lot of people have doubted me, and it makes me happy to prove people wrong,” Fox said.
