Cujo: Leafs should stick with Bernier, Reimer tandem
/Curtis Joseph was on Sportsnet 590 Tuesday and toward the end of the interview, he was asked about the goaltending situation of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jonathan Bernier has another year remaining on his contract, while James Reimer will be a restricted free agent this summer.
"Right now, I wouldn't change a thing. I would keep it the same way.
"Back 10 years ago and beyond, there was a clear No. 1 goalie it seemed like and the difference between the goalies was a greater difference and the No. 1 guy played 70 games a year. But these days, it's a 1a and 1b, you know? And Toronto's got two real good ones. I think they should stick with it and let the hot guy play."

Sportsnet.ca also interviewed Cujo and among the topics was whether or not he'd want to become a goaltending coach in the NHL.
"That’s the ultimate," Joseph said. "You can’t play anymore, so you teach. I think I have a lot to give. It’s just time, and you’ve got to be in the right situation. If you’re helping a kid and the team is horrible, there’s not much you can do. You can make him a better player, but it’s limited.
"I certainly have an expertise in that area. I always tell Gary Roberts, ‘We have a great life. We get to do events and all these things, but the difference is, you get to teach and have that competition on the ice. You get to see that guy you trained go from a 20-goal scorer to a 30-goal scorer.’
"That’s a great satisfaction and I don’t have that. I do with my boys and I love them, but at the NHL level that’d be something. The competition is something I miss."
