Hitchcock wants to see effort, intensity with Blues

Blues coach Ken Hitchcock let his team 'reset the dial' following weekend losses, but has his eye on this final week of the regular season.

“I don’t want us to sit and rest and wait it out and expect it to change next week,” he said, via The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “Clicking on all cylinders isn’t as relevant as it is about the continual effort and intensity that you’re putting into your game.

“Whatever happens by Sunday happens, it’s all over. For the players, though, I want us playing better so we have more confidence leading into the playoffs. I don’t want us with the attitude that it doesn’t matter; it does matter. Let’s take it really seriously because we’ve spent eight months getting here, let’s not just let it go.

“The danger side of letting it go is that it’s hard to get back. Whether you win or whether you lose, playing well at this time of year is really important. That’s the part they need to trust the coaches on. That part comes from experience.”
