Stastny alludes to staying with Avalanche

Colorado Avalanche center Paul Stastny, who is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, told The Denver Post on Tuesday he looked at this season as a new beginning of sorts.

"This year, for me, was a fresh start. It was a new team, with new coaches, new management. It was almost like a tryout. And you wanted to see how it went," said Stastny.

"If things didn't go well, then in the back of your mind you'd say, 'Well, maybe I want to go somewhere where I want to win.' And when things do go well, you say: 'All right, you know what? This is a completely different feel. This is good. This is something you want to be part of, and you want to keep building.' "
