Bishop 'led the league in dropped sticks'

Amusing anecdote, via The Tampa Bay Times, on Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop.

It was a left elbow injury that kept him out of the playoffs, yes, but he had ligament damage in his right wrist dating back to early January, when he hurt the wrist during warmups. The injury was then re-aggravated in a game one month later.

Bishop, who had a phenomenal season for the Lightning, wore a cast during games.

"Marty (St. Louis) used to give me a lot of crap," Bishop said. "I probably led the league in dropped sticks. I couldn't hold my stick. Any time anyone touched it I had to drop it."

Bishop is, incidentally, confident he'll be ready for training camp.
