Chiarelli looks for players that 'fit' Bruins
/Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli shares his thoughts, via The Boston Herald, on the success of his team this season and in general.
“I don’t think we’ve lost more than two in a row this year,” said Chiarelli. “That speaks to experience, level-headedness, maturity. This is a good group that’s been together for quite a while. There’s a good level of trust among our players, and it shows with our team play in all three zones.
“The system we play is very good. It’s not complicated. It’s about moving the puck, being in the right spot and supporting. The players know the support is going to be there, whether it’s support on the strong side or the weak side.”
Chiarelli spreads the credit around the organization, with a note of interest regarding players no longer with the Bruins.
"We’ve been pretty good at getting the right type of player, the type of player who wants to compete. We’ve traded away some really good players.”
The article makes a note of Phil Kessel and Tyler Seguin.
“The guys we’ve brought back, they’re the type of guys we think we can win with,” Chiarelli said. “It’s always about the fit. You’ve got to have the right fit, and sometimes that leads to some hard decisions.”
