Richardson part of Canucks' foundation

The Vancouver Province aptly describes Canucks forward Brad Richardson as 'the catalyst to a revived penalty kill, the engine that's driving linemates Zack Kassian and David Booth while being a key part of the bottom-six foundation next season.'

"Gully (assistant coach Glen Gulutzan) says it," coach John Tortorella said. "You have milk drinkers and you have whiskey drinkers — and I don't mean that literally that he's drinking whiskey — but he's a pro. He plays hard and hacks and whacks and does everything. And the players respect him."

Kassian offered this:

"He's not going to put up 30 goals or 80 points, but he does the little things right that he doesn't get credit for — things that fly under the radar," said Kassian. "I liked him when he got here and he was very approachable for a young guy like me. It was the hardest training camp of my career and he just put his head down and didn't complain once. You have to respect a guy like that."

Fantastic quote from Richardson on Corey Perry in that article too. They've known each other since they were 12.
