Boudreau relies on 'exemplary' Cogliano

Really strong offering on the evolution of Andrew Cogliano's game from The Edmonton Sun.

“He’s become somebody I rely on totally,” said Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau. “His attitude and his workmanship off the ice are exemplary. He prepares himself for every game. It’s no surprise to me that he’s done what he’s done.

“He’s got 21 goals and has played on the power play maybe twice this year. We love him playing against the other team’s top line.”

Some great quotes from Cogliano on his first few years in the league with the Oilers and his offensive mindset, which leads to this one that parents should be relaying to their kids in minor hockey.

“Now, when I play the game, I think of things completely different than when I was younger,” Cogliano said. “When I was younger, and I had a bad game and I was minus-1 or 2, my mindset the next game was that I had to score three or four points to even that out. Now, it’s the complete opposite. I think about playing solid two-way hockey and I’m going to focus on playing positional and playing in my end well and taking the offence as it comes. And I think that helps me tremendously.”
