Ducks hoping to 'do some damage' in playoffs

Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau was asked Wednesday ahead of his team's game with the Calgary Flames about his team having officially clinched a playoff spot the night before, thanks to Dallas's loss to Chicago.

“Well, we’re disappointed we hadn’t clinched it sooner,” Boudreau said, via The Calgary Herald. “We haven’t played well the last 15 games. But you take the first 55 games and you’d think we’d have clinched it sooner. Nobody said anything (about clinching) today.

“I don’t want to sound like we’re bragging, but we should be in the playoffs from what our first 55 games were. Hopefully, we’re not just going to get in the playoffs. Hopefully, we’re going to win the division and do some damage.”

Very complimentary words for the Flames from Boudreau too.

They work hard, first of all. They’re well-coached, secondly. And thirdly, they’ve got skill that people don’t know about.”

Also: “Their defence is good — they’re mobile and they’re good — and they’re getting good goaltending. I mean, they’re playing well. Their rebuild is not far away.”
