Blues looking to extend Miller, Ott

St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong was on Hockey Central at Noon Tuesday.

On a potential contract extension for Ryan Miller and/or Steve Ott:

"We've talked to both of the players... and said we made this acquisition, this trade to get you here, for this year. We understand there's no obligations - it could just be for three months and done. I said 'we'd like to have you guys regardless of what happens over the next three months, but now is not the right time to talk about it.'

"I think with Miller, Mike Liut and I have a great relationship. Mike obviously has ties to the St. Louis community and he knows we want to have Ryan well past this year and when the timing is right we can get something done and same with Steve Ott.

"There are no guarantees that either one will be back or both will be back back but when I presented this to ownership it was presented with 'let's get these guys here now, but if we can sign them, I think that's good for our quote-unquote window of success'"
