Suter: Signing with Devils never really an option

Worthwhile follow-up from NJ.com on a recent report that Zach Parise had tried to convince Ryan Suter to have the two sign with the New Jersey Devils, rather than the Minnesota Wild, in the summer of 2012. Parise had mentioned that possibility to Martin Brodeur at the time.

"It was never ever really an option," Suter said.

“(Parise) had mentioned, maybe asking, if I would want to come out here (to New Jersey),” Suter said. “I wanted to be in the West, closer to my family."

Parise added: “I talked to Ryan about it. I’ll be honest. I was trying to get him to come here. He wanted to stay out West … in the Western Conference. He liked it out there, so that conversation didn’t go very far.”
