Hartley likes Flames' heart

Before the Flames hosted the Kings Monday evening, Calgary coach Bob Hartley outlined his philosophy of how his squad had been able to win seven of its past eight contests at home.

“Playing simple. Never quit. Always second, third efforts,” said Hartley, via The Calgary Herald. “We’re playing a good team game. The guys are applying themselves. It’s a great group. It’s easy to get along. They work hard and they take pride in what they’re doing.

“We’re playing a pressure game, just like the Kings. Obviously, they’re much bigger than us, but that doesn’t matter. It’s the fight that we put in our game that matters. Size is one thing, but I look at Paul Byron — he has the heart of a guy that’s six-four, 220.”
