Hartley: Flames have playoff mentality

The Calgary Sun points out that the Flames have 24 games left and are 13 points out of the last wildcard berth in the Western Conference. Most of their remaining games are against hungry teams still in some sort of race, too.

But if you think head coach Bob Hartley will let his troops run out the clock on the rest of the season with their proverbial tails between their legs, you don't know Bob Hartley.

"The pace of the games we're going to be playing (will be against) some teams that are fighting for first place, that are fighting for their lives, that will be fighting for home-ice advantage in the first round, so it's going to be great hockey," Hartley said. "We told the players that we're entering playoff mentality. You'll see it in practices where our entire environment will be around playoffs. Just like we're going to approach every game like a playoff game."
