Insider Trading

Thursday's edition of TSN's Insider Trading featured Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger.

Dreger on possible discipline for OHL coach's cursing:

"There'll be a level of discipline handed down" to Sudbury Wolves coach Paul Fixter. "I do not believe he'll be suspended."

McKenzie on Fixter:

Fixter has been around the block. He's a pro. He knows you can't do that.

Dreger on Leon Draisaitl:

The Oilers "aren't overly-concerned" with the nine-game mark. That doesn't mean if they land a centre they wouldn't reevaluate his status either prior to or after the nine-game threshold.

"We know that MacTavish is scouring the National Hockey League looking for a bit more depth up the middle of the ice, so there could be impact on Draisaitl in the near future."

McKenzie on nine-game mark vs. 39-game mark:

That nine-game threshold is becoming less important for more teams. The 39-game is more important. You can play 39 games, but when you play the 40th it counts as a year toward unrestricted free agency.

Dreger on "culture change" among officials:

Linesmen overruling offside calls. GMs will have to make the call in March.
